The employees said I had to try the pork, so I did. It was amazing. Tender, all meat, and a good portion size. We got the pork nachos and the pork plate. The nachos come on home made chips with some sauces and scallions. This is not for a person trying to watch their figure. This is pure indulgence which is exactly what I wanted. Great experience. The rice and macaroni (hawaiian) salad were average. Get. The. Pork.
The food was just ok. We expected a more authentic and seasoned Hawaiian fare. I had the pork and cabbage, it was lacking any seasoning or flavor at all. However our daughter got pork sliders and they were smothered in sweet BBQ sauce, so much so it was too difficult to eat more than one. The prices were a bit high for the quality. The bonus was DEFINITELY the shaved ice! Everyone loved that and we'd definitely return for that but sadly not the food. Staff was not overly personable and it took quite awhile to get our order, like 20 minute's easily.
While my little one gobbled up her spam musubi and my older daughter enjoyed the Kalua pork, my Chicken Katsu was ... o-kay. In Hawaii we usually use Panko type of breading. It was okay, not as "Hawaiian" as I had expected. The Macaroni Salad was okay too. Good attempt though.
